one2tree

About Rena Anderson Sokolow

While studying graphic design at the School of Visual Arts in NYC in 1986, I landed a summer internship at the Boston Globe and said "be back soon" to the city I loved.

In the years since, I've directed a variety of newspaper sections, special projects and magazines, been recognized with over 75 awards from the Society of News Design, Society of Publication Designers, Art Directors Club, American Illustration and Print magazine, and have only been back to NYC for the occasional visit.

As Deputy Design Director at The Boston Globe, finding the right balance of text, type, color and image was always the focus of my work. At one2tree, I collaborate with each client to combine these elements in the development of a distinct identity for use in various promotional material. While each project is unique, simplicity is the common thread in my approach.

About the name 'one2tree'

The combination of words, numbers and icons is where I begin. The name 'one2tree' grows from my roots in Brooklyn, NY, honors my father (and his accent) and delights my son and daughter.
